Why a new goalie? (If true!) What is wrong with Samba? (And someone like Pope would not want to "play second fiddle" to anyone) And, I think they (the Press) can forget Brereton, too! Apparently Samba's contract expires next summer and he's refused the new terms offered. A pity! But was that before, or after, Foresr won promotion? PL wages / terms must be much better than Championship. But, it will be down to Forest in the end - and how much they think he is "worth" to the Club. Or maybe Samba would just prefer to play again in France.

By all accounts, RC Lens have held a very strong interest in him since January. He's perfectly within his rights to demand a longer and better deal. We wouldn't have got to Wembley without him. But equally, there is no sentiment in football and Pope is a better keeper than Samba. There are very few players if any currently in our squad who stay with us IF we are serious about building and becoming a top half premier league team

Would he be a replacement?

Looks increasingly likely that Spence will not be returning.

Dean Henderson from Man U loan to buy, which means Samba free to move. Means garner can only return as a permanent signing. Can not loan 2 players from the same premier league club

I read somewhere that there is a loophole that allows a second loanee from the same club, as long as there is a commitment to purchase one of the players at the end of the season. I am not sure an option to purchase, which is rumoured to be part of the deal for Henderson is sufficient though.

Maybe he could find another loophole somewhere, and equate "option" with "commitment" somehow!

Nothing official yet but it does look like Spence has signed a 2 year deal with Spurs, which seems surprisingly short.
Samba certainly seems to be off to France.
Incoming could be Taiwo Awoniyi (striker), Moussa Niakhate (CB/DM) and Dean Henderson (GK).
Lots of others being linked but these seem to be the favorites.
