Deff o SB time, that's an understatement an' half. How many times just since the restart have we conceded injury time goals? Well, nothing can be done now about the previous 45 games. It's all about game 46, a draw gets us too 6 & I think 99.9% of reds fans would be snapped both yer hands off way back in August last year. 90mins(+ the obligatory extra, extra time) stands between us and another shot at promotion to the PL.
Get the job done early then get 5 subs on. Give Carvalihio and Walker half an hour. We may need them in the play offs if we are chasing a game Watson and Grabban certainly need rest Like to see Brennan Johnson play tonight behind Grabban
Just don’t get how we have become so poor - been decent enough all season.
Injuries to key players and a squad that isn’t good enough. Cash lolley and ameobi none of them were fit tonight. Ameobi couldn’t run after 50 minutes and cash couldn’t overlap second half. Replacements like jenkinson da Costa and mighten aren’t good enough. Over reliance on 2 players for goals. Cash and figuereido are joint 4th top scorers with 3. We scored more goals the year we scraped survival under montanier/warburton.
But mainly a monumental mental failing in injury time. Reading x2, Millwall, Wednesday, derby, Fulham and Barnsley all cost us points from 90th or 45+ minute onwards just off the top of my head.
Reading can also f*** off. 2 injury time equalisers against us and then they capitulate against Swansea getting a red card in the first half and shipping 2 goals in the last 5 minutes.
Just listened to Sabri radio interview. He sounds Gutted, distraught, almost in tears. " I'm so so sorry for our fans who have given us magnificent support all season" From where we've been in the last 10 years, to miss out on the last game of the season after he has done so well to get us in top 6 & keep us their until tonight, I do really really feel sorry for him. Yes we are all gutted, some maybe angry, but given how life has treated many 000's in the UK this past 6 months, let's be thankful that soon after a few weeks to get over our hurt, we can once again fill the CG to the renditions of MoK
Over 46 games we weren`t good enough to be in the top 6 IMO.
Massive improvement over previous years, but how many times this season have we said that we don`t score enough goals or create enough chances. If, and it`s a big IF, SLM does get the push, I won`t be surprised and I won`t be distraught.
And as for our defending, it has been woeful at times.
I fear we will be rebuilding in the break, Cash and probably Lolley will be gone. Worrall too, and maybe a couple more. If Da Costa is the future then don`t get too excited about next season.
